Baptism is a Christian initiation rite that involves immersing or sprinkling a person with water, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It represents death to sin, resurrection to a new life in Christ, and entry into the community of believers. Baptisms are celebrated according to the Roman Rite, as established by the Catholic Church, making it a valid baptism recognized by all Catholic Churches.
Requirements for Baptism
- The child must be under 7 years old (so they can be baptized without catechesis)
- Baby's birth certificate
- Godparents' ID
From age 7 on, catechetical preparation is required before Baptism. If that's your case, contact the office and we'll gladly guide you.
Baptisms are available Tuesday through Saturday, based on availability.
To schedule: call the office at (310) 830-4559 and give the date you would like for the Baptism. The secretary will let you know which times are available that day.

Requirements for the godparents
- They must be Catholic.
- They must be baptized (at minimum, have received their own Baptism).
- They must be of legal age (18 or older).
- They must attend a preparation class, given on the same day as the Baptism and at the same time.
